Anthony Stefani has joined his family's Chicago restaurant business, opening Bar Cargo in River North. Bar Cargo is the younger Stefani's vision for an authentic Roman-style pizza bar. The restaurant's name and decor evoke the cargo containers once used to ship Italian food products across the Atlantic Ocean to the U.S.
Anthony grew up in the business started by his father, legendary Chicago restaurateur Phil Stefani, making pasta "for fun" at the original namesake family restaurant on Fullerton Avenue as a child.
